Custom Error Pages
To create custom error pages, first go to your account control panel. Click on the "Error pages" icon and select which error page you would like to customize. Put the HTML code for your error page in the text box provided and click the "Save" button.
Formmail
We also supply you with a formmail script written with PHP which will allow you to process a form you create and email the results to a specified e-mail address. Click here for an example of the HTML code used to configure your form.

You will need to replace "you@domain.com" with the e-mail address you would like the form sent to. For multiple recipients seperate the e-mail addresses with a "," (comma). The subject is optional. You may change the type to "text" and allow the user to supply their own subject. The redirect variable should be set to the page that is displayed upon submitting the form.
Microsoft Frontpage
Your account comes with Microsoft Frontpage extensions preinstalled. To uninstall or reinstall the extensions simply log into your account control panel and click on the "Frontpage Extensions" icon. For Frontpage extensions to work properly it is prefered that you use only Frontpage to publish your website rather than a FTP client, not both.

To publish your website using Frontpage use the following steps:
  1. Click "File" and select "Save".
  2. Type the desired file name and save it.
  3. Click "File" and "Publish Web".
  4. In the dialog type "http://www.yourdomain.com" as the location.
  5. Click on the "Publish" button.
Publishing your website using Frontpage will keep all of the files related to your website mirrored from the website related files saved on your computer. You will not have to publish each individual webpage that you make changes to, simply make changes to all of your webpages that require updates and publish your site once.

To open a file that is already created on your website, click "File" and select "Open Web". Type "http://www.yourdomain.com" as the Folder name. You will then be able to select your file for updating. After making your changes follow the publishing steps above to make them official.

Our server support the Frontpage extensions for the following:
  • Frontpage 98
  • Frontpage 2000
  • Frontpage 2002
If you should encounter any Frontpage related issues, please contact frontpage@xswebsolutions.com with a description, including error messages, of the problem and you will be contacted with a solution as soon as possible.
Server Side Includes (SSI)
SSI can make streamlining your website maintenance much easier by reusing common code such as navigation bars or headers.

For example, the "Index" panel to the right of this text is being included from another file due to the fact that it is reused throughout this website. If changes are to be made to the panel, they need only be made once for it to effect every page that it is displayed on.

The syntax for creating a SSI is as follows:

<!--#include file="panel.shtml"-->

This would be placed where you would like the panel to be displayed. In our case, we would place this code in a HTML table to the right of the page.

For your document to be processed for SSI code, you must change the extension to ".shtml". For more information and tutorials on SSI click here.
